Foundation governors are appointed in the name of the diocesan bishop and have a particular duty to preserve and develop the Catholic ethos of the school and ensure that it is conducted in accordance with its trust deed.
Their responsibility reaches beyond an individual institution to the interests of Catholic education across the diocese and wider system.
