School chaplaincy helps the whole community encounter Christ, grow in faith and put the Gospel into action. It accompanies pupils and adults through prayer, celebration, service, challenge and the ordinary moments of daily life.
EducareM has developed practical models of chaplaincy for different school contexts. These bring together the gifts of clergy, lay adults and young people so that chaplaincy is purposeful, participative and rooted in the mission of the Church.
Support is available for schools beginning a new chaplaincy model and for those seeking to deepen, review or renew established provision.

Each model recognises the particular context, people and resources of a school while maintaining a clear commitment to Catholic mission and formation.
Priest-led chaplaincy
Chaplaincy shaped through the ministry and pastoral presence of a priest, working in relationship with school leaders and the wider community.
Lay chaplaincy
A full-time or part-time lay chaplain leads and coordinates the spiritual and pastoral life of the school.
Secondary pupil team
A lay chaplain forms, accompanies and works alongside a pupil chaplaincy team within the secondary setting.
Primary pupil team
A lay chaplain forms, accompanies and works alongside a pupil chaplaincy team within the primary setting.
